Welcome to the Vertical Dance Pole Fitness Instructors
Qualification. The Course has been running for over six
years and has been continually improved and updated by KT
Coates. over 400 instructors across the world have been qualified over the
years and proudly place the Vertical dance seal of approval
on their websites. The course is open to any one around the
world and are used to working with those who have English as
their second language.

creating a unified list of moves and assists
with PDC regulations. KT is a qualified

in pole fitness. She currently holds
qualifications in the UK and USA in Group
Exercise, Pre and Postnatal Exercise, Injury
Prevention, Shoulder stabilization and free
style yoga. She has written 5 certification
programs, teaches trapeze and is the
co-creator of Tri-Fly Fitness Aerial Fitness
Instructor Training Program and DVD series
and the Vertical Dance DVD series.
Who is the beginner certification open
to?
- Any one with basic pole skills. You do not
have to be an existing instructor or fitness
professional.
- Any one wanting to learn the in-depth
technical aspect of pole fitness that gives the
participant the perfect foundation to take their
teaching to a professional level.

What will having this
certification enable me to do?
- To instruct a structured pole fitness
class that includes beginner spins, transitions
and floor work.
- You will gain the skills to teach correct

- Complete a seven unit workbook prior to the
course commencement.
- Take part in a two days of intensive training.

and a move performance assessment.

Is this
course internationally recognised?
KT has taught over 400 instructors worldwide.
Her courses are accepted proof of training
around the world. If you are a member of a
fitness organisation that is not listed above
please contact KT to organise petitioning for
credits on your behalf.
I don’t
not have any fitness training can I still do the
course?
In order to take the course KT requires you to
have a basic understanding of fitness, anatomy,
physiology, warm up and cool down techniques, so
you can be a safe and effective instructor. If
you have completed a course that involves the
above you will not need the extra fitness
module, however if you have not then you will
need to complete our fitness module. This should
be completed prior to taking the two day course.
You will receive a manual, workbook and
video
clips to work through. Please be advised that
this is not a standalone certification, it is an
add-on module so we are satisfied that you are
competent in instructing a safe and effective
warm up and cool down. If you are unsure if your

Vertical Dance beginner - £399
Vertical Dance Beginner + Fitness Module - £399 + £100
Intermediate - £199 (you must complete the beginner course
in order to take part in the intermediate

intermediate course in order to take part in the
advanced course)

Can I pay
in instalments?
Yes you can. You can pay as little or as much as
you want when you want. Full payment must be
received three weeks before the course begins in
order to receive course material. Course
instalments can not be transferred or refunded.
Intermediate course
This course can only be booked by those who have
taken the two day beginner instructor program
and must be competent at 80% of the intermediate
moves such as basic invert, butterfly and
Gemini. The course is on the second day of the
beginners course so if you are travelling from
far you are able to complete both courses. You
will be assessed through out the course on how
well you execute your moves, your understanding
of spotting and safety and how to break down and
teach intermediate moves.

certification on successful completion of the
modules.
Advanced course
This course can only be booked by those who have
taken the beginner and intermediate instructor
program with us. You must be competent at 80% of
the advance moves such as handspring and
straight edge. You will be assessed through out
the course on how well you execute your moves,
your understanding of spotting and safety and
how to break down and teach advance moves.

FAQ’s
Is the theory hard?
All you need to do is read the manual and answer
the questions in the work book. There are not
trick questions it just as simple read and
answer. You will need a minimum of two weeks to
complete this and longer depending on your work
schedule. There will be a 50 multiple choice
exam before lunch time on the first day of the
course. You will be quizzed on your written and
practical work during the course. You must
achieve a pass rate of 40/50 questions or you
will need to retake the test.
Will I
have a practical exam?
You will be formatively assessed through out the
two days of training. Written feedback will be
given at the end of the two days along with a Q
& A session. You successful completion of the
course will be down to passing your workbook,
test and your continued assessment through out
the face to face course.
I can do
the basics but I can not invert is this course
ok for me?
Yes as this course teaches you all beginner
skill level moves and we do not teach inverted
moves until the intermediate course. If you wish
to take the intermediate course you will need to
know how to safely invert, perform the crucifix
Invert facing the pole with both arms released)
and perform both the inverted inside and outside
leg hangs. Unfortunately our courses are to
build on your existing pole skills and teach you
how to use them to be an instructor. If you can
perform moves that are not polished then you are
suitable for the course as KT will help you

How many
people will be on the course?
The number will vary depending on each location
but there will be strictly no more than two to a
pole and a maximum of 15 per course, so please
book fast as there will be limited spaces.
Will I be
insured when I pass?
No you won’t be. However you will be qualified
to teach pole at beginner level or which ever
level you have passed. We have our own insurance
which you can apply for. More Info here...
How do I
enrol?

What if I
refer any part of the course?
- If you refer the workbook you will be asked to
correct the task you have referred on.
- If you refer the multiple choice exam you will
be asked to retake it on the second day of the
course.
- If you refer your practical assessments you
will be given in depth feed back as to why. If
there is enough time on the second day you will
be asked to re teach the sections referred on or
asked to send KT Coates a DVD for the referred
elements of the practical instruction. You will
not be charged if you refer any part of the
course once.
Does the
course include chair dancing and lap dancing?
This certification is about using the pole
to create strength, flexibility, flow, fitness
and dance, therefore we will not teach chair
dancing or lap dancing.
Is the
course refundable or transferable?
Refunds can only be give up to 30 days before
the start date of the course and as long as the
course materials have not been dispatched. If
you have used the instalment option, the course
is non refundable. The course is non
transferable.
Get funding for this
course
This course is now recognised for funding in the UK. If you
have been out of work and need help with retraining there
are now schemes to help train the unemployed. If you are
outside of the UK please also check with your local
government to see if you can receive assistance. Make sure
you contact your local job centre for more information and
